Lumio has announced the public beta launch of Project Neo, an AI-powered content discovery platform designed to simplify how users find and watch entertainment on their smart TVs and projectors. Built on the company’s TLDR app, Project Neo enables users to search for content simply by sending a message through WhatsApp or Instagram.
Instead of navigating multiple streaming apps or typing with a TV remote, users can describe what they want to watch in natural language. Whether it’s “something funny for family night,” “FIFA highlights,” or a movie based on an actor, mood, language, genre, or storyline, Neo interprets the request and delivers relevant content directly to compatible Lumio devices.
The AI assistant also supports multiple Indian languages, making content discovery more accessible for a wider audience.
Beyond traditional search, Project Neo offers several intelligent features. Users can instantly play YouTube videos, receive recommendations on trending shows and movies, identify films from screenshots or Instagram posts, and save interesting titles into a personal Watchlist for future viewing.
The company says the goal is to eliminate the hassle of browsing across multiple streaming platforms by allowing users to interact with their TV the same way they chat with friends on messaging apps.
The public beta is now available for Lumio Vision TVs and Lumio Arc projectors across India. During the beta phase, the company is expected to gather user feedback to further improve Neo’s AI capabilities and content recommendations.
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into consumer electronics, Project Neo represents another step toward conversational entertainment experiences, where users simply describe what they want instead of manually searching across apps.
For Indian consumers, the feature could significantly reduce the time spent searching for content while making smart TVs easier to use for families, children, and less tech-savvy users.
