New Delhi, July 3: The Ministry of Steel has announced that it will organize an Open House on July 9, 2026, to address concerns related to steel imports and facilitate direct interaction with industry stakeholders.
The session will focus on issues concerning the Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS), SARAL SIMS, and Quality Control Order (QCO) exemptions, allowing companies and industry associations to present their challenges before ministry officials.
The Open House will be held at the Steel Room, GPOA-3, Netaji Nagar, New Delhi, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Participants must register in advance by sending their requests via email before 4:00 PM on July 6, 2026, after which confirmed time slots will be allotted.
The Ministry has asked applicants to provide details including their company or association name, industry sector, issue category, application reference (if applicable), a brief description of the issue, participant details, and contact information.
To ensure wider industry participation, only one representative per organization will be permitted, while walk-in entries will not be allowed due to logistical constraints.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening engagement between the government and the steel industry, enabling faster resolution of import-related concerns and improving the efficiency of India’s steel import regulatory framework.
