IndiGo has announced the launch of direct flights between Guwahati in Assam and Deoghar in Jharkhand, further expanding its domestic network and improving connectivity between Northeast India and one of the country’s most important pilgrimage destinations. The new service will commence on August 4, 2026, and will operate twice every week on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The airline said the new route has been introduced to make travel easier for pilgrims, tourists and business travellers while strengthening economic and cultural ties between the two regions. Guwahati serves as the gateway to Northeast India and is a major centre for commerce, education and tourism, making it an important addition to Deoghar’s growing air connectivity.
Deoghar is home to the revered Baba Baidyanath Dham Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas in India, attracting millions of devotees every year. Besides its religious significance, the city is steadily emerging as an important tourism destination in eastern India.
With the launch of the Guwahati route, IndiGo continues to be the only airline offering direct services to Deoghar. The city is already connected by the carrier to Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, making travel more convenient for passengers from different parts of the country.
According to the announced schedule, flight 6E 7709 will depart Guwahati at 9:25 am and arrive in Deoghar at 11:20 am every Tuesday and Friday. The return flight, 6E 7710, will leave Deoghar at 11:40 am and reach Guwahati at 1:35 pm on the same days. All timings are in local time zones and remain subject to regulatory approvals.
Passengers can book tickets through IndiGo’s official website, mobile application or authorised travel partners.
IndiGo currently operates a fleet of over 400 aircraft and flies more than 2,100 daily flights, connecting 95 domestic and 40 international destinations. During FY26, the airline served more than 123 million passengers. It was also recognised as the Best Airline in India and South Asia at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2025 and ranked as the sixth most punctual airline in the Asia-Pacific region by aviation analytics firm Cirium.
