BPCL Introduces Premium LPG Experience
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has launched Bharatgas Lite ZIP, a premium LPG offering designed to provide customers with a faster, more convenient cooking gas experience. The new service combines instant LPG connections with express cylinder delivery, catering to the growing demand for hassle-free household energy solutions.
The launch was announced by BPCL Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Khanna in the presence of Director (Marketing) Subhankar Sen, marking another step in the company’s efforts to modernise LPG distribution across India.
Designed Around Lightweight Composite Cylinders
At the heart of the new service is BPCL’s Bharatgas Lite composite cylinder, which is significantly lighter than conventional steel LPG cylinders. The company says the cylinder has been developed to improve ease of handling while enhancing safety and convenience for customers.
Key features include a corrosion-resistant composite body, a transparent gas-level indicator that allows users to check the remaining LPG, and a modern design aimed at improving the overall user experience. The lightweight construction also makes transportation and handling easier, particularly for senior citizens and small households.
Expansion Planned Across India
The Bharatgas Lite ZIP service has been launched initially in Mumbai, with BPCL planning a rapid nationwide expansion. The company aims to introduce the service in 100 additional cities across 24 states by August 15, 2026, significantly increasing access to its premium LPG offering.
The expansion is expected to strengthen BPCL’s presence in the growing premium LPG market while offering customers quicker deliveries and simplified connection processes.
Competition Grows in Premium LPG Market
BPCL’s latest launch comes at a time when India’s premium LPG segment is becoming increasingly competitive.
Recently, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) partnered with Swiggy Instamart to introduce HP Navya, a lightweight composite LPG cylinder available through on-demand delivery. The service allows eligible customers to order LPG cylinders without requiring a traditional domestic LPG connection, targeting students, professionals and smaller households.
With both BPCL and HPCL introducing lightweight composite cylinders and faster delivery models, public sector oil companies are focusing on convenience, safety and improved customer experience while expanding access to modern LPG solutions.
