Bharti Airtel reported a strong first-quarter performance with revenue crossing ₹58,500 crore, higher ARPU, expanding subscriber base and lower net debt despite increased capital expenditure.

Bharti Airtel has reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter of FY27, driven by higher customer monetisation, continued subscriber growth and improved average revenue per user (ARPU).
The telecom operator posted a consolidated net profit of ₹8,167 crore during the June quarter, registering an 11.5% sequential increase from ₹7,325 crore in the previous quarter. While the profit was slightly below market expectations, the company’s revenue and operating performance exceeded analyst estimates.
Revenue from operations increased 5.7% quarter-on-quarter to ₹58,539 crore, crossing the ₹58,500 crore milestone. EBITDA also rose 5.8% to ₹33,303 crore, while the EBITDA margin remained stable at 56.88%.
One of the biggest positives for the quarter was the continued improvement in ARPU, which climbed to ₹264 from the previous quarter, reflecting stronger customer monetisation through tariff hikes and a growing base of premium subscribers.
Within the India business, mobile revenue increased 4% sequentially to ₹29,929 crore, while mobile EBITDA rose to ₹18,187 crore.
The home broadband segment also delivered steady growth, with revenue rising 4% to ₹2,288 crore. Revenue from the DTH business increased 4% to ₹773 crore, while the enterprise business reported 3% growth to ₹5,665 crore.
Bharti Airtel’s mobile subscriber base expanded to 37.65 crore users during the quarter, up from 37.32 crore in the previous quarter.
The company also strengthened its balance sheet by reducing net debt by 4.1% to $16.7 billion. Meanwhile, capital expenditure surged 45% year-on-year to $1.41 billion as Airtel continued investing in network expansion, digital infrastructure and service quality.
