GMR Aero Technic and StandardAero have signed an agreement to establish GMR Aero Technic as an authorised service centre for on-wing aircraft engine support across the Asia-Pacific region.
GMR Aero Technic and StandardAero have entered into a partnership to expand aircraft engine maintenance and support capabilities in India and the wider Asia-Pacific market.
Under the agreement, GMR Aero Technic will become an authorised service centre for StandardAero’s on-wing engine support services. The proposed facility will provide specialised maintenance services to airlines and aircraft operators across the APAC region.
The service portfolio will include engine and module replacements, borescope inspections, fan blade and fuel nozzle replacements, gearbox changes, engine preservation and storage, Quick Engine Change build-up, Electronic Control Unit software upgrades, engine logistics and engine change services.
GMR said providing these capabilities closer to airline operating bases could help reduce aircraft downtime and improve fleet availability.
The partnership combines StandardAero’s engine aftermarket expertise with GMR Aero Technic’s existing MRO infrastructure and its location in India.
Ashok Gopinath, President and Accountable Manager at GMR Aero Technic, said the collaboration represents a step towards developing advanced engine-support capabilities for the APAC region and supports the company’s plans to expand beyond traditional airframe MRO.
StandardAero Senior Vice President for Global Sales Rebecca Lane said the partnership strengthens the company’s existing support for operators in India. The agreement follows StandardAero’s previously announced partnership with GMF AeroAsia in Indonesia.
