Hero MotoCorp is preparing to expand its premium motorcycle portfolio by launching a range of new motorcycles in the 150-350cc category during FY2026-27. The upcoming products will be introduced under both the Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson brands, reinforcing the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence in India’s fast-growing mid-capacity motorcycle segment.
According to Hero MotoCorp’s FY2026 annual report, the company sees the 150-350cc segment as a key growth area for the Indian two-wheeler market. The report states that this category has emerged as the “premium sweet spot” and continues to outperform the overall motorcycle industry.
Hero said the premium motorcycle segment recorded an 18% year-on-year growth, driven largely by GST rationalisation, which has made these motorcycles more attractive to buyers. The company believes rising consumer interest in feature-rich motorcycles with modern technology is encouraging manufacturers to focus on mid-capacity platforms.
The report also noted that motorcycle makers are increasingly introducing technology-loaded variants and expanding their offerings in the sub-350cc category to cater to changing customer preferences.
In contrast, Hero observed that the premium motorcycle segment above 350cc continues to witness relatively slower growth because of higher taxation, making larger-capacity motorcycles more expensive.
With its upcoming launches, Hero MotoCorp aims to capture a larger share of the premium motorcycle market while leveraging its partnership with Harley-Davidson to attract enthusiasts looking for stylish and performance-oriented motorcycles.
