Kia has opened bookings for the Syros EV in India with a token amount of ₹25,000 ahead of its expected launch.
The electric SUV will offer two battery options, premium features and a claimed range of up to 526 km.

Kia is preparing to launch the Syros EV in India and has opened bookings for the electric SUV with a token amount of ₹25,000. The new model is expected to strengthen competition in the country’s fast-growing electric SUV segment.
The Syros EV will largely retain the design of the petrol and diesel-powered model. However, the electric version will get a charging port positioned on the front fender.
Other design elements, including the LED lighting setup, bumpers, body cladding and 17-inch alloy wheels, are expected to remain similar. The vehicle will be offered in several colour options, including Glacier White Pearl, Frost Blue, Gravity Grey, Pewter Olive, Magma Red, Ivory Silver and Aurora Black Pearl.
Inside the cabin, the Syros EV will feature Kia’s Trinity Panoramic Display. This setup includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-inch climate control display.
The electric SUV will also offer wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, an eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and a 16-litre front storage compartment.
Other premium features include powered and ventilated front seats, sliding and reclining ventilated rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, rear sunshades and a dual-camera dashcam.
For safety, the Kia Syros EV will come with Level-2 advanced driver assistance systems, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, front parking sensors and an electronic parking brake.
The electric SUV will be available with two battery packs. The smaller 42 kWh battery is expected to offer an ARAI-certified range of 443 km, while the larger 51.4 kWh unit will provide a range of up to 526 km.
The larger battery version will use a front-mounted electric motor producing 171 hp and 255 Nm of torque. The smaller battery version will generate 135 hp while offering the same 255 Nm torque output.
Kia claims that the 51.4 kWh version can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in 8.1 seconds.
The company will offer 7.4 kW and 11 kW AC charging options. Using a 7.4 kW charger, the smaller battery will take around six hours to charge from 10% to 100%, while the larger battery will require approximately seven hours and 15 minutes.
With a 100 kW DC fast charger, the larger battery can be charged in around 39 minutes.
