Televisions and washing machines were among the key growth drivers during the quarter. Strong summer demand also supported sales of air conditioners and refrigerators.
LG Electronics India said the consumer durables market in India is witnessing a structural shift towards premium, technology-led and energy-efficient products. The company believes its portfolio is positioned to benefit from this trend.
Managing Director Hong Ju Jeon said profit grew at nearly twice the pace of revenue and every category contributed to the company’s performance. LG also said its export business continues to expand, while additional production capacity at Sri City is expected to further support growth.
