New Delhi, July 1: Panasonic Life Solutions India (PLSIND) has announced the first winners of its Co.lab Studio by IGNITION programme, selecting Indian startups Portl and Sensio (Orbyt) to co-develop AI-powered wellness and wearable solutions for its MirAIe connected living platform.
The collaboration marks Panasonic’s effort to transform MirAIe from a platform that connects home appliances into an intelligent lifestyle ecosystem capable of adapting to users’ health, comfort and daily routines.
Hyderabad-based Portl will integrate its AI-powered connected fitness ecosystem with MirAIe. Its technology includes personalised workout sessions, live coaching, AI-based form correction, nutrition guidance and wellness services. Users will be able to access smart fitness features alongside connected Panasonic appliances through a single platform.
Meanwhile, Sensio (Orbyt) will contribute wearable health intelligence through devices such as smart rings, health bands, chest patches and smart glasses. These wearables can monitor ECG, heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO₂), sleep quality and body temperature using edge AI. The biometric data will allow MirAIe to automatically adjust connected appliances based on a user’s health condition and preferences. For example, sleep data could help optimise air conditioner settings, lighting and other smart home functions to improve comfort.
Panasonic said the initiative represents a shift from a traditional startup accelerator to a co-business creation model where startups and large enterprises jointly develop market-ready products.
The first edition of Co.lab Studio attracted 173 applications from more than 20 countries, highlighting growing global interest in enterprise-startup collaboration. According to Panasonic, the strong participation from Indian startups demonstrated the country’s growing capabilities in deep-tech and artificial intelligence.
Company executives said the selected startups showcase how Indian innovation can solve real-world consumer problems while also creating products with global potential.
By combining Panasonic’s consumer reach with startup-led AI innovation, the company aims to deliver more personalised, intelligent and connected experiences for households. The initiative also reflects the increasing role of AI in the smart home segment, where appliances are expected to respond not only to user commands but also to health, wellness and lifestyle data.
With Portl and Sensio joining the MirAIe ecosystem, Panasonic is positioning itself to offer next-generation connected living solutions that seamlessly integrate fitness, wellness and home automation into a unified digital experience.
