New Delhi, July 17, 2026: Reliance Jio has further strengthened its leadership in India’s 5G market, with its True5G subscriber base reaching 285 million as of June 2026. The company added 73 million new 5G users over the past year, reflecting the rapid adoption of next-generation mobile services across the country.
Jio’s latest quarterly results also highlight a major shift in customer usage patterns. 5G data traffic on the Jio network is now nearly 1.5 times higher than 4G traffic, indicating that more users are relying on high-speed connectivity for streaming, gaming, video calls, and other data-intensive applications.
The company reported an average monthly data consumption of 43.7 GB per subscriber, while total data traffic during the quarter rose 26.9% year-on-year to 69.4 billion GB. These figures underscore the growing demand for digital services and Jio’s expanding role in India’s evolving telecom landscape.
Jio continued to post strong subscriber growth during the quarter, adding 8.9 million net mobile subscribers. This took its total customer base to 533.3 million, reinforcing its position as the country’s largest telecom operator.
The company’s fixed broadband business also maintained strong momentum. Total fixed broadband subscribers increased to 28.6 million, with around 8.6 million new additions over the past 12 months. Jio’s market share in the segment crossed 43%, while Jio AirFiber surpassed 14 million subscribers, contributing more than 75% of all fixed broadband additions during the year.
Jio Platforms also delivered robust financial performance in the first quarter. The company reported a record EBITDA of ₹20,865 crore, up 15.1% year-on-year, with an EBITDA margin of 53.3%. Net profit increased 9.2% from a year earlier to ₹7,764 crore.
The latest results indicate that Jio is not only expanding its customer base but also driving higher usage of next-generation digital services. With rapid growth in 5G adoption, rising data consumption, and continued expansion in home broadband, the company continues to strengthen its position in India’s digital connectivity ecosystem.
