OPPO working on ultra-battery smartphone
OPPO is reportedly preparing to launch a new A-series smartphone that could feature one of the biggest batteries ever seen in a mainstream device — a massive 10,000mAh unit.
According to industry tipster Digital Chat Station, the company is testing a mid-range phone with a battery size of around 9,700mAh, which could be marketed as a typical 10,000mAh capacity.
If launched, the phone is expected to compete with devices like the Realme P4 Power, which already offers strong battery performance with similar ultra-large capacity cells.
Big battery, big endurance
The biggest highlight of the upcoming OPPO phone is its battery life. With a 10,000mAh capacity, the device could easily last multiple days on a single charge under normal usage.
For comparison, phones in this category have already shown screen-on time of over 15 hours, suggesting OPPO’s device could deliver similar or even better endurance.
Expected features and performance
Leaks suggest the phone may feature a 1.5K flat display with LTPS technology. However, it is still unclear whether OPPO will use an AMOLED or LCD panel.
On the performance side, the smartphone is expected to run on a 4nm mid-range chipset, possibly from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 or 7 series, or MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 or 7500 lineup.
Durability is also expected to be a key focus, with reports suggesting a strong and drop-resistant build, continuing OPPO’s trend in its A-series lineup.
Expected price and launch
The upcoming smartphone could be priced around CNY 2,000 (approximately ₹28,000), placing it in the competitive mid-range segment in India.
If true, it would sit alongside other OPPO A-series models like the A6 Pro 5G, which already focuses on large battery life and rugged design features.
